Saint John’s Cemetery reflects the rich Catholic heritage of Terryville and the surrounding communities. Established to serve the growing Catholic population in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, the cemetery became the final resting place for many immigrant families who brought their faith traditions to the area while working in local industries and businesses.
The cemetery preserves the memory of generations of Catholics who worshiped in Immaculate Conception Church in Terryville and contributed to the growth and development of the town. Its monuments and memorials tell the story of the faith-filled families who helped build both the Church and the community.
Visitors are encouraged to spend time in quiet reflection, remembering those who have gone before us, praying for all the faithful departed.
